Detective Conan: The Ceremony of Innocence (Detective Conan: Meitantei Konan 고등사자 토도추) is a 2010 Japanese anime film that is the twenty-first installment in the Detective Conan franchise and the last one to be animated by TMS Entertainment before it went bankrupt. Set in the 1920s as opposed to most other films in the series, this film marks an end to TMS's animation of Detective Conan. It takes place near San Francisco, California during prohibition. In the 1920s, a golden age for American film is underway. Cinemas are booming and the public has been enraptured by films from Hollywood. In order to prevent Hollywood from monopolizing cinema industry, a man called "The Chief" determines to end this golden age of movie making. Then one night, The Chief's men raid a cinema theater and murder the owner, Jiro Shinoda. The Chief forces Shinoda's son Shōgo to reveal his father's greatest secret: a treasure map which shows where there is a film studio in hiding. Upon discovering the studio, The Chief sends his men to bring it down by any means necessary. Shinoda and his son Noboru manage to escape and head for Mexico where they hide out for a while. In the mountains, Shōgo and Noboru come across an abandoned building which turns out to be a former movie studio which has been abandoned since the 1920s. They discover that Conan Edogawa (Tatsuya Fujiwara), Lars (Kengo Kawanishi) and Inspector Megure (Mamiko Noto), all of them old colleagues of Shinoda, are hiding there as well. A year earlier they were ambushed by The Chief's men and injured but managed to escape with their lives before losing their memory during their trip into Mexico. Shinoda decides to make it his mission to find out who The Chief is and who he works for while Shinoda's son Noboru decides to take up his father's mantle and continue operating the film studio. As Conan, Shinoda, Lars and Megure's memory starts returning, a new threat appears in the form of a group of men from a rival film studio. The chief sends his lackey Atsushi Miyanoshita (Hirofumi Araki) to capture them all alive. Miyanoshita is in fact Jiro's long lost brother who, despite his younger brother's wishes, chose the path of film making rather than following in his father's footsteps. Later in the film, Miyanoshita captures Shinoda and Noboru while he also reveals that he is The Chief only to be revealed as an imposter when Conan reveals that The Chief has a scar on his left elbow. It turns out he was hired by the real Chief who used him to allow him to infiltrate Shinoda's group. Conan overhears their plans and manages to free Shinoda and Noboru before he incapacitates Miyanoshita (who had managed to capture Lars, Megure and Conan) for good. cfa1e77820
